ACTRA has named Lisa Blanchette as its new director of public policy and communications.

Blanchette, who joined ACTRA Toronto in the role of government relations specialist in April 2018, takes over from Elliott Anderson, who is taking on a new role in the government sector.

Blanchette served as chief of staff for the Minister of Culture and Tourism for the province of Alberta from 2015 to January 2018. Prior to that, she worked as an organizer for ACTRA Toronto.

Anderson was named director of public policy and communications on an interim basis in December 2015 before being named to the post in a permanent capacity in July 2016.
