Spin Master’s Paw Patrol, Rusty Rivets among Nickelodeon renewals

The U.S. network also greenlit a second season of 9 Story Media's Top Wing.

Nickelodeon has renewed a pair of preschool series from Spin Master Entertainment and one from 9 Story Media.

The U.S. network has greenlit Spin Master’s half-hour series Paw Patrol and Rusty Rivets for an additional sixth and third seasons, respectively, spanning 26 episodes each. Produced by Spin Master, Rusty Rivets follows two inventors, Rusty and Ruby, who seek to inspire kids to take part in maker culture through innovation. Meanwhile, Paw Patrol tells the story of a pack of pups who transform into a team of superheroes.

Paw Patrol previously received accolades including the prize for best preschool program at The Banff World Media Festival in 2017. Most recently, the CGI-animated series picked up three awards at the 2018 Canadian Screen Awards, including best preschool program or series.

Meanwhile, 9 Story’s Top Wing was also renewed for a second season. Nickelodeon previously acquired the exclusive rights to the CGI action-adventure show for its worldwide channels (excluding Canada) in March 2016. Top Wing follows a team of young birds who come together to help their community and earn their wings as rescue birds.

In addition to those renewals, the kids net also announced the U.S. series Blaze and the Monster Machines would return for a fifth season, ordering 20 episodes of the half-hour series.
