YouTube has greenlit an eight-episode, hour-long series about AI, from Vancouver’s Network Entertainment, L.A.’s Sonar Entertainment and Robert Downey Jr.’s prodco, Team Downey.

Hosted and narrated by Downey Jr., the untitled series is produced by Derik Murray and Paul Gertz of Network Entertainment. Exec producers on the project are Downey Jr., Susan Downey and Emily Ford of Team Downey, alongside Jenna Santoianni and Tom Lesinksi of Sonar. Team Downey’s Evan Moore is set to oversee the project.

The series will follow how AI is impacting the way we live and work with interviews from researchers and experts in the field.

The project is set to premiere on YouTube’s subscription-based service, YouTube Red, in 2019.

YouTube Red is not currently available in Canada but is offered in the U.S., Australia, New Zealand, Mexico and Korea.
