Entertainment One has lined up its next TV project, tapping five-time Oscar nominee Kenneth Branagh (Murder on the Orient Express) to star in and produce A Gentleman in Moscow.
Based on Amor Towles’ novel of the same name, the TV series was adapted by director Tom Harper (Peaky Blinders). It follows a Russian Count (played by Branagh) who is ordered to spend the rest of his life in a luxury hotel.
eOne will serve as the studio for the series and controls worldwide rights. Carolyn Newman and Polly Williams will spearhead the project for the Toronto-based company. Harper will produce the series alongside Xavider Marchand of Moonriver Content.
The news follows eOne’s recent appointment of Mark Gordon as president and chief content officer of film, television and digital at eOne. The project reunites Gordon and Branagh, who both recently produced Murder on the Orient Express.
