eOne, Gotham Group adapting The Lying Game for TV

The global studio and the L.A.-based management and production firm will coproduce the TV adaptation of Ruth Ware's novel.

eOne is partnering with L.A.-based management and production firm The Gotham Group to develop a TV version of Ruth Ware’s novel The Lying Game.

The Toronto-based global studio has acquired the worldwide rights to the project from The Gotham Group, with both companies set to partner on the production of the TV adaptation.

The Lying Game is a psychological suspense drama about a group of friends, who are made to regret a risky game they used to play when they were in high school.

Gotham’s Ellen Goldsmith-Vein, Jeremy Bell and Lindsay Williams will executive produce the series, while eOne’s Polly Williams, VP, scripted development and Carolyn Newman, SVP, scripted programming, will oversee the project for eOne.

Ware is a London, U.K.-based novelist whose previous novels include the thrillers In a Dark, Dark Wood and The Woman in Cabin 10The Lying Game debuted in the number three spot on The New York Times Best Sellers’ list earlier this year.
