Cameras rolling on Randy Bachman doc

The Winnipeg-shot documentary, produced by Farpoint Films and Paquin Entertainment, examines the legacy of the Canadian musician.

Filming is underway in Winnipeg on a documentary about Canadian musician Randy Bachman, produced by Winnipeg’s Farpoint Films and Toronto’s Paquin Entertainment Group.

The feature-length project, titled Bachman, examines the Canadian Music Hall of Famer’s global impact on pop music, since his emergence in the mid 1960s as a founding member of The Guess Who.

Directed by Farpoint co-founder John Barnard, the doc is licensed to CBC’s documentary channel. Executive producers on the film are Gilles Paquin and Christopher Charney, with Kyle Bornais and Scott Leary producing.

Earlier this month it was announced that Farpoint had inked a deal with Rooftop Content Group that sees the Amsterdam-based sales agent repping Farpoint’s feature film Menorca internationally. The Winnipeg-based production company also has a first-look production deal with L.A.-based producer and distributor Rive Gauche Television, which the pair inked in June 2016.
