Milton’s Secret gets VIFF world bow

The film, produced by Buck Productions, Fred Fuchs’ Riverside Entertainment and Hulo Films, is set to make its world premiere at the Vancouver International Film Festival in the Special Presentations program.

Also screening in the program are The Birth of a Nation (a U.S. production on which Bron Studios is a coproducer), American Honey (U.S.), Elle (France/Germany), The Girl with All the Gifts (U.K), The Handmaiden (South Korea), Human (France), Julieta (Spain), Manchester by the Sea (U.S.), Moonlight (U.S.) and Toni Erdmann (Germany).

Milton’s Secret, a $4 million feature starring Donald Sutherland and Michelle Rodriguez, was shot in Hamilton, ON in October 2015.

VIFF previously added 22 Canadian films to its 2016 lineup, including writer/director Randall Okita’s The Lockpicker, Lev Lewis’ The Intestine and Sofia Bohdanowicz’s Never Eat Alone.

This year’s festival runs from Sept. 29 to Oct. 14.
