Vancouver’s Omnifilm Entertainment has started production on Wild Bear Rescue, a new docuseries for Animal Planet.
The series (12 x 30 minutes) follows a northern B.C. family who run the only animal shelter in the world that is legally allowed to rescue and rehabilitate orphaned Grizzly bear cubs.
Wild Bear Rescue is executive produced by Omnifilm president Michael Chechik and partner Gabriela Schonbach, along with David Gullason. Edwina Follows and Heather Williamson serve as executive producers for Animal Planet. Series producer Brad Quenville will write and direct.
The series is slated to air in 2017 on Animal Planet in Canada.
Omnifilm is also currently in production on season three of Jade Fever, which airs on Discovery Canada. And last month, it was announced that Omnifilm and marblemedia were developing a remake of Omnifilm’s ’90s CBC series The Odyssey.
