Hayter, who wrote the first X-Men movie and co-wrote the screenplays for Warner Bros. and Paramount Pictures’ Watchmen and Universal Pictures’ The Scorpion King, joins the project in the development phase, with ReincarNATE being planned as a one-hour series.

The television project is an adaptation of a comic book series from writer Michael Moreci and illustrator Keith Burns. The story follows private eye Nate McCoy, who discovers he is able to interact with formed versions of himself after he sustains a gunshot wound to the head.

James Cooper developed the adaptation and wrote the pilot for the project, which is executive produced by Buck Productions president Sean Buckley and Théroux. It was initially announced in June 2014 that Buckley and Theroux were collaborating on the adaptation.

Theroux is the former head of eOne’s film group and departed the company in September 2014. Last year it was announced that he was in development on a six-part series titled The Family Shakespeare

Hayter is UTA, Principato-Young Entertainment and attorney David Feldman, while writer Moreci and ReincarNATE property is represented by Jason Yarn Literary Agency.
