Chris Bell joins eOne Television

The former Corus programming exec is now on board in a VP role with the Toronto-based producer and distributor.

cbell headshotEntertainment One is continuing to bolster its TV executive ranks with the hire of Chris Bell.

Bell arrives at eOne from his previous post at Corus Entertainment, where he was director of original programming, comedy and drama for the broadcaster’s stable of specialty and pay channels, including Movie Central, W Net and ABC Spark. He also served in development and production roles at Toronto boutique producer Rhombus Media.

Bell has been named VP current programming, overseeing a slate of series currently in production. His role is a new one at the company and was created to support the growth of its global scripted business and indie studio model, eOne said in a statement. Recently greenlit series for the company include Mary Kills People (with Cameron Pictures) for Global and Cardinal (with Sienna Films) for CTV.

Bell joins a programming team led by Jocelyn Hamilton, who joined the company in July 2015 as president of eOne Television in Canada. The company has also been building up its unscripted division in the U.S. in the past year, with the signing of a number of first-look deals and new hires.
