The National Screen Institute has appointed Angela Heck to the role of director of digital and strategic initiatives.
In this new role, Heck will work to advance the NSI’s digital programming and initiatives.
In April 2015, Heck was appointed manager of digital media programs and development at NSI. In that role, she developed the Telus Storyhive web series and digital shorts programs, which provided funding to B.C and Alberta content creators, as well as Telus Optik Local, a training program for B.C. and Alberta filmmakers.
NSI has also appointed Joy Loewen to the position of manager, programs and development. Loewen, who previously served as NSI Drama Prize program manager, will be in charge of NSI Features First and NSI Totally Television, taking over for Shelly Quade who is on temporary leave.
NSI also announced the appointment of Kaya Wheeler to the position of aboriginal programs and administrative assistant. Wheeler will work with Ursula Lawson on NSI New Voices, in addition to other programming and admin duties.
