Last week, a delegation from the Belgian region of Wallonia visited the TIFF Bell Lightbox to meet with Canadian producers and to announce Riftworld: Heroes as the latest project selected to receive funding via the Canada-Wallonia Incentive for Digital Media. The fund is jointly administered by the Canada Media Fund and Belgium’s Wallimage funding agency.

The Belgian delegation also did a presentation for Canadian industry reps about the various Belgian/Canadian coproduction opportunities available for producers. Attendees for the morning’s event included Karen Thorne-Stone, president and CEO of the OMDC, Telefilm executive director Carolle Brabant, Wallimage CEO Philippe Reynaert and various reps from Belgian production companies and businesses.
