CBC preps Reefer Riches for October bow

The Cynthia Banks-directed doc explores the corporatization of the marijuana business.

The CBC has announced that Reefer Riches, a documentary on the corporatization of the North American marijuana business, is set to air as part of its new doc series, Firsthand.

The 45-minute doc, produced by Outside-In Productions, is scheduled to get its world broadcast premiere on Thursday, Oct. 29 at 9 p.m. Reefer Riches is narrated and directed by Cynthia Banks (Apocalypse 2012, The Pagan Christ) who also co-wrote and co-produces the doc alongside Michael Wheeler, her production partner at Outside-In , and executive producer Doug Grant.

Banks’ doc explores how the legalization of marijuana in some parts of the U.S. has changed the pot business, and how this will impact the course of the booming Canadian marijuana trade.

Reefer Riches is produced in association with the CBC and with the participation of the CMF.
