CBC/Radio-Canada streamers among additions to Rogers Xfinity

The deal brings thousands of hours of content from CBC Gem and ICI Tou.TV to the platform, along with Paramount+ and DAZN.

Rogers has made CBC Gem and ICI Tou.TV along with Paramount+ and sports streamer DAZN available to cable subscribers.

The deals see more than 6,500 hours of live and on-demand programming from CBC Gem added to Rogers Xfinity and more than 12,000 hours of programming from ICI Tou.TV, according to a news release issued Thursday (July 31).

This marks the first time CBC Gem has been made available via TV service providers. ICI Tou.TV is also available on service providers such as Vidéotron’s Helix and TELUS Optik Télé.

The added content includes CBC/Radio-Canada’s news and live sports coverage, long-running titles Murdoch Mysteries and Heartland, newer series such as Saint-Pierre and North of North (pictured), ICI Tou.TV Extra’s L’oeil du Cyclone, Paramount+’s South Park and the National Football League through DAZN.

The streamers are also available on a variety of other platforms including iOS, Android, Apple TV, Samsung, Roku and Amazon Fire TV, among others.

In a statement, CBC’s EVP Barbara Williams said that this partnership with Rogers will help bring CBC programming to millions of viewers across Canada.
