Bell Fund distributes $3.5M across 27 projects

Shaftesbury and Radical Sheep are among the recipients of production funding in the latest Bell Fund round.

money (2)The Bell Fund has distributed $3.5 million across 27 projects and their corresponding digital media components in its latest round of funding, including grants for projects from Temple Street Productions, Shaftesbury and Radical Sheep Productions.

Among the English-language projects to receive production funding for their digital media components were Slasher – Nightwalker Experience from Shaftesbury, a mobile gaming experience which will accompany the 8 x 60-minute Super Channel series Slasher; Lost and Found Music Booth, an online program produced by Temple Street in conjunction with the tween music series Lost & Found Music Studios and Radical Sheep’s mobile and online app Bagel and Becky: Unleashed!

Other projects to receive production grants in the same category were Mercury Filmworks’ Atomic Puppet (Atomic Puppet Games – Crisis in Mega City and Captain Atomic Fight!), Bugs Productions’ Bugs on the Menu (Bugs on the Menu Interactive), Switch Animation’s George of the Jungle Season 2 (George of the Jungle – Owie Owie) and SK Films’ The Water Brothers Season 4 (Dive Deeper 2).

In the low budget production program projects receiving funding include Mosaic Entertainment’s Delmer & Marta, Apartment 11 Productions’ Look Kool Season 2, Michael Shannon Michael Shannon John from One Thousand and One Productions and Inigo Films’ Star*Men.

French-language projects to receive funding via the Bell Fund’s Production Program were Picbois Productions’ Justice, Productions KOTV`s Les Appendices saison 8, Zone3’s PaparaGilles saison 2 and Attractions Images’ Transformatruc.

In the low budget program for French-language projects, Les moments magiques avec Père Noël portable from UGROUPMEDIA was also the sole recipient.

Elsewhere, Intuitive Pictures’ Gift-It-Forward and Productions Avenida’s Jenny received development grants, while marblemedia interactive’s Splatalot Accelerator and Écho Média Toopy & Binoo’s Toupie et Binou – Refonte et mise-à-jour took away Performance Accelerator funding.

Rounding things out, Women in Film & Television – Toronto, Pixel Québec, and Festival du nouveau cinéma 2015 were given Professional Development funding, while Creative Anarchy’s Make Me Read and Inspector Bronco’s self-titled project received TV Development Online funding.
