Change is continuing to roll through Bell Media with news today that CTV topper Phil King is no longer with the company.
King held the position of president – CTV, sports and entertainment programming since 2010. Prior to that, he was president at TSN, where he led the division from 2004 to 2011.
King’s exit comes on the heels of former Bell Media president Kevin Crull’s departure this spring following a dispute involving interference with CTV News. He was replaced by former BCE-side exec Mary Anne Turcke, who at the time was still new in her role on the media side of the business as head of sales.
King came onto the CTV side in 2010 in a leadership shakeup that saw former sports head Rick Brace move onto the business side of the still-new Bell Media division.
Brace is now president at Rogers Media, following a brief retirement from the media industry in 2013.
