Cameras roll on What Would Sal Do?

The cast for the half-hour comedy series was also revealed Wednesday, which will be shot and set in Sudbury, ON.

Super Channel, New Metric Media and DHX Media have announced production has commenced in Sudbury, ON on What Would Sal Do?, and also revealed the cast for the half-hour comedy series.

The eight-episode What Would Sal Do? stars Dylan Taylor (Rogue, Covert Affairs, Slasher) as Sal, along with Jennifer Dale (Of Unknown Origin), Ryan McDonald and Scott Thompson (Hannibal, The Kids in the Hall), with Kaniehtiio Horn (Hemlock Grove) appearing in a recurring role.

The modern-day parable is set in Sudbury, and follows the story of underachiever Sal and his friends and family after he finds out he is the Second Coming of Christ. Production in the series is set to wrap by Sept. 15 and will bow on Super Channel in spring 2016.

What Would Sal Do? is executive produced by Andrew De Angelis, who also wrote and created the series. Other writers on the show include Kurt Smeaton, Mark Forward, Alex Levine, Mark DeAngelis and Brandy Hewitt. The series is produced by Toronto’s New Metric Media, in partnership with DHX Media and in association with Super Channel. Executive producers for New Metric Media are Mark Montefiore and Patrick O’Sullivan. De Angelis is repped by Meridian Artists. Samir Rehem serves as director on the series.
