DirecTV orders You Me Her straight to series

The Entertainment One-produced series was created by John Scott Shepherd (pictured), who will also serve as executive producer and showrunner.

john shepherdL.A.-based satellite TV provider DirecTV has made a straight-to-series order for Entertainment One original You Me Her.

The 10 x 30-minute comedy was created by John Scott Shepherd (Save Me, The Days) and will air on DirecTV’s Audience Network in the U.S.

Shepherd will executive produce the series alongside Peter Jaysen of Playboy Enterprises’ Alta Loma Entertainment and Alan Gasmer. Shepherd, whose inspiration for the show came from a Playboy Magazine article entitled Sugar On Top, will also serve as showrunner.

The show is a topsy-turvy take on the traditional rom-com, and tells the story of a person in a relationship with a married couple.

Entertainment One will handle the domestic and international distribution of the series, as well as the financing. You Me Her will be overseen by  Gerard Bocaccio, SVP U.S. scripted development at eOne. There’s no word yet on whether or not the series will air on a Canadian broadcaster, or where it is set to be shot.

DirecTV’s first scripted drama, Rogue, was also ordered from eOne. Last year, DirecTV ordered an extended third season of the Vancouver-shot series, which airs on TMN and Movie Central in Canada.

DirecTV has more than 20 million customers in the U.S.
