NSI appoints Angela Heck to digi-focused post

Prior to joining the NSI, Heck was director of business development at Winnipeg-based Tactica Interactive.

The National Screen Institute has hired Angela Heck to take on the newly created position of manager of digital media programs and development.

As the training institute looks to expand its expertise in the digital realm, Heck will be responsible for developing and managing programming initiatives focused on digital media.

Before being hired by the NSI, Heck was the director of business development at Winnipeg-based Tactica Interactive. Previous to that, she worked as a senior communications officer at the CBC and as an industry program manager at the Whistler Film Festival. She also worked in public relations for the National Film Board of Canada.

Heck, who is an NSI Features First grad, also worked with the NSI on the Telus STORYHIVE training session it recently ran in Vancouver. The NSI teamed up with Telus and its STORYHIVE web series competition this past fall, offering training and mentorship to winning teams.
