Telefilm Canada has offered to finance two French-language films through its Canada Feature Film Fund, marking the organization’s first funding decision for the 2015-2016 fiscal year.

Alain Desrochers’ Nitro Rush was offered $2 million in financing from Telefilm. Confirmed cast members for Nitro Rush include Guillaume Lemay-Thivierge, Raymond Bouchard, Antoine Desrochers and Alexandre Goyette. The film is written by Martin Girard, with Attraction Images producing and Les Films Seville on board as distributor.

Erik Canuel’s Route 66 was offered $1.6 million in financing, with Michel Cote and Benjamin Biolay confirmed to appear in the film. Route 66 is written by Beniot Guichard, with Zoofilms serving as producer. Route 66 will be distributed by Les Films Seville.

The final contracts for the funding have not yet been signed, and are still in the “offer” stage.
