CBC taps Jenna Bourdeau to lead acquisitions

Jenna Bourdeau, the former VP of distribution at Proper Rights, has been named senior director of acquisitions at the CBC.

Bourdeau will report to Sally Catto, who was named GM of programming at the pubcaster this spring. She will oversee the acquisition of Canadian and international content for CBC platforms.

Prior to her role at Proper Rights, Bourdeau was co-president at Buzz Taxi Communications, a distributor she co-founded in 1999 with Natalie Vinet and was acquired in 2013 by Proper.

In a statement regarding the appointment, Bourdeau said she is “particularly excited that CBC will also offer top-notch international content to Canadian audiences as part of our strategy and look forward to contributing to its success.”
