In Toronto film market news, sales agent Marina Cordoni has boarded Wilson Coneybeare’s upcoming feature American Hangman as an executive producer.

Cordoni of Marina Cordoni Entertainment will help shop the U.S.-based theatrical thriller for pre-sales next week in Toronto.

Ahead of Toronto, American Hangman, produced by Los Angeles-based Canoe Lake Films has also added David James Elliott (JAG) to the cast as a detective in the kidnapping saga that already has Martin Freeman and Brian Cox as leads.

The film is set to shoot in Canada and Northern Ireland in November.

Coneybeare launched Canoe Lake Films in 2011 to produce niche theatrical features and limited dramatic series.

His current slate includes two follow-up features to American Hangman for a trilogy of political films called The American Series, and a TV series in development, Liberty, California.
