Bell Media’s BravoFACT has awarded $243,000 across eight short films in its latest round of financing, including projects from Jonathan Bronfman and Noam Rabinovitch.
The winning projects were selected from a total of 85 submissions during a BravoFACT jury meeting held on Aug. 26. The funding supports the production of short films.
The filmmakers and projects that were most recently awarded grants are: Jonathan Bromfman’s AFK, Chris Fassbender’s Dating Cartoons – Smash and Marcus, Svet Doytchinov’s The Date, Inga Dievulyte’s Eligible, Vincent Ethier’s A Love Story, Noam Rabinovitch’s One Last Dream, Aubrey Arnason’s Payment, and Jeremy Lutter’s Reset.
BravoFACT and the New York Television Festival also released the names of the projects to be featured in the BravoFACT Passport program, launched this May. Jason Stone’s Let It Ride and Jonathan Williams’ The Portal were selected as Passport Selects projects under the program. These two films will screen at NYTF this October, and the creators of the projects will be given official artist status at the event to meet with industry players and showcase their work. BravoFACT will cover the costs of the creators of these films to attend the festival.
Four other short films were selected as notable projects under the program, with the creators of those films also receiving official artist status at the festival. The selected films are Matt Sadowski’s Marshall Law, Peter Stebbings’ Parachute, T.W. Peacocke‘s Prairie Dogs and Alex Clark’s Siren.
