Reflecting the increasingly global nature of the TV business, Montreal-based production company Zone3 has announced its expansion into the U.S. with the opening of a New York office.
Heading up the new operation will be new hire Julian Locke, who takes on the title of EVP and head of U.S. operations.
The New York office will handle Zone3’s burgeoning cross-border business, and the expansion of its English-language programming. It has recently produced God, Guns & Automobiles for History in the U.S. and Match Game for Comedy Network in Canada.
“By having a presence in the United States, we want to speed up our growth,” said Michel Bissonnette, president, Zone3, in a statement.
Locke comes to Zone3 from recent stints with Jane Entertainment (exec producer), Loud Television (EVP) and Leopard Films U.S.A (VP).
Joining Locke’s team will be exec producers Michael Kronish and Isabelle-Anouk Bourduas, all responsible for English-language productions destined for the domestic and U.S. markets.
Zone3 currently has over 45 TV series and 15 web series currently in production in both French and English.
