Perfect Storms, Khrushchev does America win IMPACT Awards

Perfect Storms Interactive, the interactive digital extension for the Shaw Media documentary series Perfect Storms, has won a 2014 IMPACT Award.

The international awards recognize the best in documentary, factual and historical programming. Perfect Storms Interactive, from Toronto-based Secret Location in association with Shaw Media and Entertainment One, won the award in the digital category. The Perfect Storms Interactive experience lets users recreate three historically significant  natural disasters  that are depicted by  the documentary series.

Secret Location also recently swept the cross-platform media category at the 2014 Canadian Screen Awards, taking home CSA hardware for The Amazing Race Canada Interactive, The Next Step Interactive, and Continuum Interactive.

The documentary Khrushchev does America, from Canada’s Sundial Entertainment along with France’s Point du Jour and U.S.-based Robert Stones Productions, also picked up an IMPACT Award in the use of historical archives category.

IMPACT is a marketplace for factual content, taking place in Turin, Italy from March 12-14, 2014.
