Peace Point Rights
Peace Point Rights has sold over 120 hours of factual and lifestyle programming ahead of the MIPTV market. Colin and Justin’s Cabin Pressure (13 x 30 minutes) was sold to TV2/Bliss of Norway and TV2 of Hungary; Keasha’s Perfect Dress (14 x 30 minutes) and its accompanying web series Keasha’s Fashion Tips (21 x 2 minutes) were also sold to RTL Lounge of Netherland and Luxembourg ,and Norway’s TV2/Bliss. TV2 Hungary also picked up two Anna Olson series, and Ms. Olson will also be appearing on U.S.-based ION Life thanks to a three-season deal for Fresh with Anna Olson. ION Life also picked up Loving Spoonfuls (26 x 30 minutes) and Reality Obsessed (26 x 30 minutes).
Food Truck Face Off (13 x 60 minutes) was acquired by LITV (Southeast Asia), while Frontier Vets (12 x 30 minutes) was purchased by Radio Television Brunei. Finally, Chimp Mommy (2 x 30 minutes) was sold to CCTV 10 (mainland China, PRC).
DHX
DHX has signed three licensing deals for the animated kids’ series The Adventures of Abney and Teal. Abbey Home Media has picked up the licensed home entertainment rights for the series, with two titles planned for release this year. In addition, Cooneen & Misiril has licensed the rights to produce underwear and nightwear ranges featuring the series. Redan Publishing has also purchased the licensing rights to showcase Abney and Teal in compilation magazines Fun to Learn Friend and Fun to Learn Favourites. The company also picked up first option rights to possibly create a standalone publication for the brand of The Adventures of Abbey and Neal. DHX acquired The Adventures of Abney and Teal as part of its recent acquisition of Ragdoll Worldwide Ltd.
Guru Studio
Toronto-based Guru Studio’s preschool series Justin Time (52 x 11 minutes), which recently won a 2014 Canadian Screen Award, is set to air in a number of European territories including Sweden, Switzerland, Croatia and Ukraine. Seasons one and two will air on Swedish pubcaster SVT’s children’s channel Barnkanalen and Ukraine’s Pixel while season one is headed to Swizterland’s RSI and Croatia’s HRT. Justin Time has already been licensed in more than 75 countries and a third season is currently in development.
