Toronto-based Guru Studios has hired Steven Sherman as its new VP of finance.

Sherman (pictured), who joined the role earlier this year, is responsible for leading the company’s production and corporate finance teams. Sherman will be focused on financial planning and strategy related to Guru’s development slate, service productions as well as international partnerships and co-productions, a Guru spokesperson told Playback Daily.

He reports to Frank Falcone, president and executive creative director.

Previously, Sherman was the director of finance at Sinking Ship Entertainment. He has also served as director of finance at Peace Point Entertainment Group and DHX Media (now WildBrain),

“Steven’s vast experience and his collaborative style will bolster our management team, and help us drive new growth at Guru,” said Falcone in a statement.
