Canada’s Showcase has renewed Lost Girl from Prodigy Pictures for a fifth season.
The latest 13-episode order from the Canadian network comes as Syfy is still mulling a fifth season of the Anna Silk-starrer about a succubus who feeds off of sexual energy.
The original drama begins production on season five this spring, and is set to return to air in fall 2014.
Lost Girl bowed on Showcase in 2010, and the fourth season was the top-rated show on the specialty channel across a host of key demos, according to Shaw Media.
Besides Silk, also returning to the cast for the fifth season is Kris Holden-Ried as Light Fae shape-shifter Dyson, Zoie Palmer, Rick Howland, Rachel Skarsten, and guest stars Paul Amos and Emmanuelle Vaugier.
A Syfy spokesman on Thursday told Playback that the U.S. network had yet to make a decision on a fifth season renewal.
Lost Girl was developed by Toronto-based Prodigy Pictures, in association with Shaw Media and Showcase. It is executive produced by Jay Firestone, Vanessa Piazza and Michael Grassi.
