Montreal-based prodco Incendo has begun production on The Good Sister in Montreal.
Montreal filmmaker Philippe Gagnon is directing the $3 million-plus TV movie, which stars Sonya Walger and Ben Bass.
The Good Sister follows a couple who is working to put their crumbling marriage back together, when the wife receives a letter informing her that she has a long-lost twin sister. First thinking that the new family member will bring the couple closer together, the husband then begins an affair with the sister and discovers that she is treacherous and dangerous.
“More than ever, audiences around the world are turning to television for entertainment. In addition to meeting broadcasters’ needs, the thrillers we produce are hugely popular with television viewers,” said Incendo president and CEO Jean Bureau in a statement.
Bureau and Ian Whitehead are producing The Good Sister, which will air in Canada in 2014 on The Movie Network and Super Ecran, and in the U.S. on A&E Television Networks.
