Principal photography has begun on Vancouver-based Odyssey Media’s TV movie Anatomy of Deception.
The film is directed by Brian Skiba and written by Vancouver screenwriter Roslyn Muir.
Muir won Odyssey’s 2012 Canadian screenplay competition with Anatomy of Deception, and worked with Odyssey’s development team over the last year, including the company sending Muir to the American Film Market in Santa Monica to gain industry exposure.
Muir said in a statement that in addition to developing and beginning production on Anatomy of Deception, she is working with Odyssey on another MOW.
Anatomy of Deception stars Canuck actors Natasha Henstridge, Miranda Frigon and Lochlyn Munro, along with C. Thomas Howell. The MOW tells the story of a district attorney who, tapped to replace the outgoing mayor, is stalked by a man who engineers her fall from grace, leading her to push back and beat him at his own game.
Kirk Shaw, Devi Singh, Stan Spry and Eric Woods are producing.
Muir this year also wrote the script for The Birdwatcher, directed by Siobhan Devine. The project won the Women in the Director’s Chair Feature Film Award, which includes $120,000 in in-kind services.
