The Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) has added a last-minute screening of Shane Salerno’s anticipated feature doc Salinger (pictured) to its schedule.
The film will screen once on the opening day of the festival tomorrow (September 5) at 8 p.m., ahead of its U.S. theatrical release on Friday. The screening will technically be the doc’s official world premiere, as Salinger has only previously had a single preview screening at Telluride in Colorado.
The documentary looks at the life of the late elusive author J.D. Salinger, who brought the world The Catcher in the Rye. It has remained shrouded in mystery for a long time, with few having seen footage of the film during production, although buzz has been high since The Weinstein Company picked up the doc for a reported seven-figure price in March this year.
Salinger’s TIFF berth was first predicted by realscreen in July. Check out the trailer for the film below:
