Avi Federgreen’s Indiecan Entertainment has acquired the Canadian rights to the feature documentary The Sheepdogs Have At It, directed by John Barnard.
Indiecan is planning a spring and summer theatrical release across Canada for the film, which is produced by Kyle Bornais (We’re The Weakerthans, We’re From Winnipeg) of Winnipeg-based Farpoint Films.
The documentary follows the rise of Saskatoon boogie rock band The Sheepdogs, including their winning a spot on the front cover of Rolling Stone Magazine in August. The film also tracks the band to Nashville, where they record their new album with producer Patrick Carney from The Black Keys.
The Sheepdogs Have At It had its world premiere at the Whistler Film Festival in December.
The Sheepdogs are Sam Corbett, Ewan Currie, Ryan Gullen and Leot Hanson.
