City Seeds a digital preview

In advance of a Feb. 4 delivery date, City is Seed-ing interest its upcoming comedy Seed with an app and digital preview of the first episode.

Launching Friday, the Seed Baby interactive app lets users partner with either the male or female series main character to make a baby.

Users can use augmented reality to make the baby dance or play. Tying in with the series, every new episode gives the Seed baby a new skill. Users can track the baby’s progress and share it on social media. Nova Scotia-based interactive and augmented reality company Ad-Dispatch is producing the Seed Baby app.

The app also includes a “Shots of Wisdom” feature, which gives users tips from main character Harry, who is a wise-cracking bartender. Users can also submit their own shots by captioning images from the show, to win weekly prizes. Winnipeg’s Tactica Interactive is producing the Shots of Wisdom feature.

The app is free to download and available for ioS devices through the App Store.

And starting Jan. 28 through Feb. 3, a preview of Seed‘s first episode will be made available online and via the City video app.

Seed, starring Adam Korson and Carrie-Lynn Neales, is created by Joseph Raso. The series is produced by Force Four Entertainment. Raso will exec produce with Mark Farrell. The Force Four production team includes supervising producer Paula J. Smith (Less Than Kind) and producer/line producer Karen Wentzell (Trailer Park Boys).

Seed is slated to premiere on City on Feb. 4 at 8:30 p.m.
