Atom Egoyan has added Rosario Dawson (pictured) to his upcoming feature Queen of the Night, which starts shooting this month in Ontario.

She joins a previously-announced cast for the theatrical thriller that includes Ryan Reynolds, Scott Speedman, and Mireille Enos.

Dawson will play a detective racing against time to rescue an imprisoned young woman, with Reynolds playing the father of the abducted child.

Egoyan and David Fraser penned the screenplay for Queen of the Night, which comes from Ego Film Arts, Egoyan’s production shingle, and The Film Farm, long-time collaborators.

Egoyan, Simone Urdl, Jennifer Weiss and Stephen Traynor will produce the film, to be distributed in Canada by Entertainment One, which also handles international sales.
