Haven gets season four greenlight

Entertainment One and its partners on Haven have received a 13-episode order for season four of the Showcase sci-fi genre tentpole.

Shaw Media and Syfy south of the border announced the greenlighting of season four Friday.

Its creative team includes executive producers John Morayniss from eOne Television and David MacLeod (Legends of the Fall, The Ray Bradbury Theater) of Chester, N.S.-based Big Motion Pictures.

They are joined by Lloyd Segan, Shawn Piller, Scott Shepherd (Stephen King’s The Dead Zone, Greek) of Piller/Segan/Shepherd and Matt McGuinness (Journeyman, Dark Blue) as well as Sam Ernst and Jim Dunn (Stephen King’s The Dead Zone), who also developed the series.

Haven is produced by eOne and Big Motion Pictures in association with Piller/Segan/Shepherd and airs on Showcase in Canada, Syfy in the U.S. and internationally on Universal Networks International’s channels.

Haven is based on Stephen King’s novella Colorado Kid and shot in Nova Scotia.

Entertainment One controls its worldwide distribution rights. It has concluded a deal with Germany’s Tele München Group for the television rights in Continental Europe.

The season three finale will air on Showcase on Dec. 21.
