Darius Films has sold the worldwide sales rights to its upcoming Christian Slater-starrer RastaFEARian to indie sales and distribution outfit 108 Media.
Sara Lohman is to direct the indie about an out-of-control film producer (Slater) who literally spares no one to get his project off the ground.
108 Media is adding the title to its world sales slate ahead of the Toronto International Film Festival, and follows the indie distributor partnering with U.S.-based Paladin to release movie titles into the North American market.
“They (108 Media) immediately understood that it’s a different film, smart and elevated. I wanted to work with a company who gets the kind of film we were making. Our sensibilities and goals for the kind of film we’re going to make were a perfect match,” Darius Film’s Nicholas Tabarrok said after inking the distribution deal with Abhi Rastogi’s 108 Media.
Darius Films’ other recent projects include two Jonathan Sobol films, The Black Marks, a heist comedy that recently shot in Toronto, and A Beginner’s Guide to Endings.
