The Yukon Film & Sound Commission has put a $15,000 investment in the NSI Features First training course.
The Yukon-based team behind Features First project Fragments – producer Michael Vernon and writer-directors David Hamelin and Neil Macdonald – will benefit from the money.
Action horror film Fragments features a young Yukon astrobiologist who returns to her hometown following a meteor explosion. She discovers that it is the source of an infection that is turning its human hosts into violent carriers and that it’s spreading throughout the town.
As the name suggests, Features First is a feature film development training course for teams working on their first or second feature film, who receive group training and a cash award to put towards a story editor and training plan.
