BBC America has acquired the Canadian sci-fi series Orphan Black, the Temple Street Productions project already tipped to air on Bell Media’s Space channel.
The 10-episode series, to shoot in Toronto, will air on BBC America as part of its “Supernatural Saturday” programming block, via a licensing deal with worldwide distributor BBC Worldwide.
Orphan Black was created by Graeme Manson and John Fawcett, who will also direct.
The Canadian drama is executive produced by Temple Street’s Ivan Schneeberg and David Fortier. It portrays a woman thrust into a mystery involving human clones and a conspiracy.
