David MacLeod, executive producer of Nova Scotia’s Big Motion Pictures, has been named as chair of the Canadian Media Production Association.

MacLeod replaces Tom Cox, who has held the position for the last two years.

“The CMPA is an incredibly important part of the ongoing success of Canadian content producers both at home and in the international marketplace,” said MacLeod in a statement, adding that he is looking forward to the opportunity to work with new CMPA CEO Michael Hennessy.

“I’m especially looking forward to being part of the CMPA team as we develop new business strategies for our members that will help get even more Canadian content seen around the world on all the rapidly evolving multiple platforms that consumers are embracing today,” he added.

MacLeod has served on the CMPA board of directors since 2007, and is also a director and founding member of the Nova Scotia Motion Picture Industry Association.
