U.S. channel Syfy renews Lost Girl for third season

The U.S. sci-fi channel Syfy has renewed the Canadian drama Lost Girl from Prodigy Pictures for a third season of 13 episodes, to start airing in January 2013.

With the third season production on the Anna Silk-starrer already underway in Toronto through September, new to the Lost Girl cast is Rachel Skarsten (Flashpoint) in a recurring role as a sexy new Fae who ruffles feathers.

In January 2012, Lost Girl debuted on the SyFy channel, with the second season bowing in April.

During season two to-date, Lost Girl has averaged 895,000 viewers in the 18-49 demo, according to Live +7 data.

On July 20, Lost Girl will move from Mondays at 10 p.m. to Fridays at 10 p.m. on Syfy.

The Canadian drama is executive produced by Jay Firestone, Emily Andras, Plato Fountidakis, and Paul Rapovski.
