Entertainment One has come away from the European Film Market in Berlin having signed multiple territory deals for everything from comedies and dramas to zombie-flicks and thrillers.
The indie distributor pre-bought a host of major film titles to eventually program against Hollywood studio fare in its core markets.
These include deals for the Mark Wahlberg (pictured) and Denzel Washington-starring action comedy 2 Guns, acquired from Foresight for Canada and the UK, and writer/director Steven Sheil’s Dead Mine from Celluloid Nightmares, acquired for the UK, Canada and Benelux markets.
Entertainment One also pre-bought Love Punch from France’s SND, which stars Emma Thompson and Pierce Brosnan and will be released by the Canadian distributor and its affiliates in the UK, Canada and Australia.
There’s also pre-buys for the Jennifer Aniston-starrer Miss You Already from The Salt Company, for the British, Canadian and Australian markets, Steven Soderbergh’s Side Effects, where rights for the UK and Canadian markets were acquired, and Jim Mickie’s We Are What We Are, from Memento Films and to be released in Britain and Canada.
