Sony to roll out eOne’s The Firm in 111 territories worldwide

After NBC and Global Television debut Entertainment One’s (eOne) The Firm in January, Sony Pictures Television will show the Canadian drama in 111 territories worldwide from Feb. 19.

Sony will debut the adaptation of John Grisham’s 1991 novel now being shot in Toronto across its global network AXN, including Asia, Latin America, Central Europe, Iberia and Italy.

Sony Entertainment Television will also roll out the drama to Africa, Russia and the Baltics.

In all, The Firm will reach around 126 million households worldwide.

Executive produced by Lukas Reiter and John Grisham, The Firm continues the story of Mitchell Y. McDeere and his family, 10 years after the events of the popular film from Paramount Pictures, and the novel.

Reiter serves as the series showrunner, and Josh Lucas, Juliette Lewis, Molly Parker and Callum Keith Rennie lead the cast.

Canadian Alyson Feltes joins Peter Noah, David Feige, William Rothko, Vincent Angell and Jonathan Shapiro in the writers room.

The Firm is a brand-defining show for our channels and this launch marks a key milestone in our strategy to produce more tentpole original series for our global portfolio,” Marie Jacobson, executive VP of programming and production networks at Sony Pictures Television said in a statement.
