Citytv is expanding its mobile programming menu with a new app offering live programming.

The new Citytv Video App for iPhone and iPod Touch includes programming from Citytv’s daytime and morning day parts. Previously, only Citytv primetime and news programming was available via mobile.

The innovation will make many a morning commuter excited, as Citytv’s flagship Breakfast Television Toronto will now be streamed live to mobile in the mornings, as well as its flagship daytime show, Cityline.

The net’s primetime fare will continue to be offered as well via its iPad app, and news via its CityNews app for iPhone and iPod Touch.

The move marks an industry first, Rogers Media stated in a press release, making Citytv the only net to stream live to mobile.
