D360 picks up nonlinear rights to Undressed

MTV’s edgy Undressed is Distribution360’s first acquisition for the online space, and head of sales Stéphanie Röckmann-Portier will be on the hunt for a digital home for the series.

The show targets young adults in the 18 to 25 age range, and D360 will be at the Banff World Media Festival armed with the full 222 episodes of the series and looking to place it on VOD, home video, online and mobile platforms.

Undressed is a perfect example of a long running show that resonates extremely strongly with people that were in high school a while ago and are now young adults, and now spend a lot of time online,” she says. “The idea is to give them the opportunity to reengage with the stories they love on a new medium where they now spent more time.”

The anthology series revolves around the sexual and romantic relationships of young people in the L.A. area, and ran for six seasons on MTV. Because the irreverent series had a long run and earned a cult following, Röckmann-Portier believes that its now grown-up audience will want to see the stories on online and mobile platforms.

In the meantime, she says that D360 is actively acquiring programming at the moment to build up its libraries in kids, factual and drama

“We’re identifying properties that have a great opportunity to travel to international audiences,” she adds.
