Screenwriter and novelist Tom Bauer has landed his first feature film gig, as Montreal’s Echo Media optioned his comedy-drama Tradition.

Set in Montreal, it centers on a man’s anxiety of getting circumcised to marry the woman of his dreams, delving into the subject of Jewish circumcision.

Echo’s executive producer-development Natacha Robinson optioned the script from the Montreal writer.

Bauer is repped by The Saint Agency in Toronto.
