Entertainment One is teaming up with Philip Seymour Hoffman to develop the
HBO drama Upstate.
Entertainment One, which already produces Hung for HBO, will produce the
drama about a man who loses his job and relocates his family to take a job
as a correctional officer in a private, for-profit prison with Seymour
Hoffman’s Cooper’s Town Productions.
The Upstate script was penned by Brett C. Leonard and Bob Glaudini.
No word on casting. Seymour Hoffman is not expected to appear in the HBO
drama.
The executive producer credits go to Seymour Hoffman and Emily Ziff at
Cooper’s Town and Entertainment One’s Michael Rosenberg.
Seymour Hoffman earned an Oscar for his performance in Capote, a feature
produced by the late Bill Vince and filmed in Winnipeg.
