U.S. network The CW has acquired the zombie script Awakening from veteran Canadian writers William Laurin and Glenn Davis (The Listener) for development.
The project about two sisters who confront one another during a zombie uprising will be produced by Reveille and Warner Bros. TV as a possible pilot.
The script purchase comes as AMC’s The Walking Dead pops with U.S. primetime audiences.
Laurin and Davis made a name north of the border during the 1990s with a string of Canadian TV series like Power Play and John Woo’s Once A Thief.
Laurin, Davis, Howard T. Owens, Carolyn Bernstein and Todd Cohen will executive produce Awakening.
