Byron A. Martin, Terence Marcel and Andrew Grocock have signed a co-venture deal to produce The Great Baby Blue. The film is penned by Academy-award winning screenwriter, John Briley (Gandhi, Cry Freedom).
Toronto-based Martin (The Devil’s Teardrop, Wild Cherry, Phantom Punch) works out of his own Byron A. Martin Productions shingle, while Marcel (Jane and the Lost City, Dark Knight television series) and Grocock hail from Westwood Productions in the UK.
The film is in early development and no director or cast is yet attached. The project will film in Ontario and Florida.
“It’s a rare opportunity to be a part of a special project like this – an Academy Award winner’s screenplay,” observes Martin. “John Briley’s script jumps off the page, his heartfelt characters and engaging story is a heroic tale – very touching, inspirational and comical. I am very excited to be a part of this project.”
