Vancouver-based production/finance group Bron Studios has signed a three picture deal with L.A.’s Unified Pictures. Unified will handle production and foreign sales with Bron co-producing and financing.
The first of the three films, A Million Reasons, is a comedy written and directed by Michael Nickles and will begin principle photography in Vancouver in January, 2011. Unified Pictures’ president Keith Kjarval and head of Bron Studios Aaron L. Gilbert (Daydream Nation) will produce.
The companies report that the two other unnamed film projects are expected to be in the $5 million to $10 million budget range.
Unified and Bron have already partnered once, with L.A.’s Industrial Entertainment, to produce Janie Jones (pictured). The film, starring Abigail Breslin, Alessandro Nivola and Elizabeth Shue, premiered at TIFF 2010.
