Partners in Motion bolsters team, adds MIPCOM sales

Regina-based prodco Partners in Motion (PIM) has been keeping busy in the last few months, as it recently added a Vancouver mobile company to its fold, made a deal with a digital media house and closed a raft of MIPCOM sales.

Pocket Media launched in August with a host of services from mobile apps and digital media for multiple platforms and will expand PIM’s range of products and services for the parentco and its subsidiaries. David Newcombe has been appointed managing director of Pocket Media, which will eventually open an office in Saskatchewan.

PIM has also inked a deal with CGI specialist Tyrell Media Corporation, in which the company holds an ownership position. The digital media studio creates original content across a variety of services from 2D/3D animation, compositing, VFX and digital advertising.

On the MIPCOM front, the prodco has secured a number of program sales, including the Smithsonian Channel’s pick-up of The Re-Inventors, season three. It’s the first time the series will air in the U.S. It’s also heading to Cineplex in Thailand, ABC Australia and TV Collection and Game Network in Russia.

Other sales include Crime Stories (season 7) to Foxtel in Australia/New Zealand, Ceska in Czech Republic and Spektrum in Hungary. Innovation Nation is heading to All Time Entertainment in the Middle East and Discovery Asia.
